Let the dance of life begin

I am here to sound off on anything I feel I need to voice about as well as to share and to have others share with me. My sister locks are what got this started.... so here is to celebration of my 'nappy tresses, my sister locks' and indeed life with all it offers.

Love of Hair is a Wonderful thing!!!!

Yesterday was another braiding and banding day (cause I needed to wash my babies). While I was preparing to wash my hair I decided to redo the braids after I washed and separated my locks. Well during this time I reflected this truly is a journey If you are not used to taking time to do something just for you, you have to learn because sister locks demands it!! but its a time of love and nurturing and in all of this I am learning some patience with my hair, myself and hopefully others like my husband and mom will benefit from this new found revalation. It was just one of those as a good sistren of mine likes to call them a 'moment of clarity'.

Its my third-month-a-versary

Wow its been three months!! And gain, so far so good. I don't know if I mentioned this before but the washing is tedious but I am keeping on because I have my eyes on the 'prize'. Also gonna invest in some more head bands , I have had a few bored days that have passed but the advice is to leave my locks alone so head bands it will be!!!!. Also gonna do a subscription to the sister lock journal I think it is. I am also glad I invested in the calender (sister locks) I like looking at what is possible and knowing that my locks are still gonna do their thing and be original in their own way. How cool is that!!!!

I am so Excited and have some Concerns

More discoveries in the world of sister locks..... when I just had my locks installed my consultant told me that once I had braided and banded, washed and then separated my locks I could braid them and let it air dry so I could get a crinkled look. Well I tried it for the first time this week and boy am I sorry I do not have pics to show you ( I will take some) it turned out wonderful and added to that I got lots of compliments. However it seems that persons now believe they can touch my hair without my permission or if they ask to touch it seem to think they should be given permission. Well I am finally bravin up and sayin no when I do not want my hair to be touched. Gets me tho how some people just touch my hair without asking for me thats kinda personal. So now I have something else I can do with my hair. PS I am so tickled by the fact that I dont have to run an take cover when there is a little more moisture in the air than usual.
one love and yes I love my sister locks
